Where it started
My grandfather was an aerospace engineer and introduced me to math at a very young age. Because of him, I fell in love with building things and problem-solving at the age of 5.
What was missing
I've been to four different schools in the past four years. Throughout my time, I was never given hands-on opportunities to explore my interests in STEM, especially as a girl. I hope to give middle school girls the opportunity I never had to explore their interests and discover their passion early.
Why MS. stem, why now
The summer after my sophomore year, I walked into a STEM summer program and saw that there were only 10 girls out of 60 students. From there on out, I knew that I needed to make a change. I hope that whenever someone walks into one of our workshops, they feel endless support and embrace the fact that they can make a difference!
Where we're headed
Our goal is to establish more chapters, reach more countries, and get more girls to see themselves as builders.
